Online Catalog

Online Library Catalog is a register of bibliographic items in the IUS Library and it is available in a machine-readable form. A bibliographic item can be any information entity, e.g. books, computer files, graphics, cartographic materials, webpage links, etc.
The cataloging process starteed in March 2016 by using a new software equipped with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID).  This is the latest technology used in library theft detection systems. RFID-based systems are tracking systems that combine security with more efficient tracking of materials throughout the library, including easier and faster charge and discharge, inventorying, and material handling.
Until 2016, the Library items were processed and classified using a program developed by the IUS IT Center.
Online catalog helps IUS Library users in the following ways:

  • They can access the catalog from everywhere and browse by an author's name, a title of publication, a keyword, etc.,
  • It is easy to check the availability of an item, loan period and its place on the shelf.

Bibliographical records of IUS Library items are available here: ONLINE CATALOG
